FAQ

Questions Before You Reach Out

How disruptive is this to residents, guests, or daily operations?
Most surfaces are completed within a single business day. Elevator cabs are typically wrapped in 6–8 hours — we schedule overnight or off-peak windows (Sunday mornings, low-occupancy periods) to keep at least one cab running. No dust, no demolition, no smell. Lobbies and corridors are sectioned off so foot traffic continues uninterrupted.
How does this compare in cost to full replacement?
Architectural film typically runs 40–70% less than replacing the underlying surface. A wood veneer elevator cab refresh that would cost $18K–$25K in replacement materials and labor is usually $6K–$10K with film — and completes in one day instead of two to three weeks.
How long will it last in a high-traffic NYC building?
Commercial architectural films (3M DI-NOC, Bodaq by Hyundai L&C) carry 10–12 year manufacturer warranties for interior applications. In real-world NYC conditions — elevator cabs, lobby doors, hallway panels — expect 7–10 years of service life before any noticeable wear. Spot-repair is possible without rewrapping the entire surface.
Is it fire-rated and building-code compliant?
Yes. The films we install are Class A fire-rated per ASTM E84, meeting NYC building code for interior finish materials in elevators, corridors, and lobbies. We provide manufacturer documentation and installation certification for your building records and insurance files.
What if a resident or guest damages it after installation?
Individual panels can be spot-replaced — you're not rewrapping the whole cab or door. Most damage (scuffs, scratches, marks) cleans off with standard non-abrasive cleaners. We keep your film pattern on file so repairs match exactly, even years later.
Do I need board or ownership approval for this?
Because film is a non-structural surface upgrade — not a renovation — most buildings treat it as maintenance rather than alteration. We provide a one-page project summary (scope, materials, timeline, warranty) that you can forward to boards, ownership, or asset managers for sign-off.
Can you match our brand standards or an existing finish?
Yes. The film libraries we work from include 450+ patterns covering wood grains, stone, marble, metals, solids, and textiles. For hotel brand standards (Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, etc.) we match to PMS codes or existing millwork samples. Custom prints are available for branded elements.
Do you carry insurance and who handles liability on-site?
We carry general liability and workers' comp coverage standard for NYC commercial projects, and we provide COIs naming your building or management company as additional insured before work begins. Installers are W-2 or vetted subcontractor crews — no day labor.
Can you handle a portfolio, not just one building?
Yes. Multi-property management firms and hotel groups typically engage us on MSA or preferred-vendor terms, with consistent pricing, scheduling, and finish standards across properties. If you manage 5+ buildings, ask about our portfolio program.
What surfaces are you not a fit for?
Floors, exterior-facing surfaces exposed to weather, surfaces with active water damage or failing substrate, and anything that's already been painted with low-adhesion or oil-based coatings without proper prep. We'll tell you upfront during the walkthrough if film isn't the right solution — we're not going to wrap something that won't hold.
How do we get a quote?
Send the form with a few photos and basic surface dimensions (or just approximate square footage). We respond within one business day with either a preliminary range or a request to schedule a 20-minute on-site walkthrough. No fees for quotes or site visits in the five boroughs.

Planning a door, elevator, or interior refresh? Here are the questions property managers, hotel teams, and building operators usually ask before getting started.

Questions Before You Book a Walkthrough

How long does a typical project take?

Most door and elevator resurfacing projects can be completed in hours, not weeks. Final timing depends on the number of surfaces, site access, and the condition of the existing finish.

Do doors need to be removed or elevators shut down?

In most cases, no. Our process is designed to minimize disruption and avoid unnecessary shutdowns, demolition, and building-wide inconvenience.

Is resurfacing more cost-effective than replacement?

Yes. Resurfacing is typically far more cost-effective than full replacement because it avoids demolition, disposal, extended labor, and long project timelines.

Can you work in occupied buildings?

Yes. We regularly work in active properties where minimizing noise, mess, and tenant or guest disruption is essential.

What types of surfaces can you upgrade?

We upgrade doors, elevator interiors, elevator landings, wall panels, millwork, cabinets, lobby features, and other interior surfaces that are structurally sound.

Do you offer samples or an on-site consultation?

Yes. We can review your space, discuss finish options, and recommend the most practical upgrade path based on your building, budget, and timeline.
